Post Tour

The survey results are in, and we’ve heard you loud and clear. We are excited to announce the Post Tour will be held in Switzerland! To finish off the Rover event of all Rover events, we are going to travel to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC), home of the very first World Scout Moot.

Day 1 (3 August): Reykjavik

Participants will depart the Moot site on the morning of the 3rd of August and travel back to Reykjavik. This will be a free day to catch up on washing, catch up with friends or catch up on sleep!

IST will remain on site to help with the pack-up and will join the Contingent the following morning.

Day 2 & 3 (4-5 August): Zurich, Switzerland

On the 4th we will rejoin with our IST and depart Iceland for Switzerland, the land of the Alps. We will have plenty of free time over the next 2 days to explore the amazing city of Zurich, the capital of Switzerland. Spend the morning exploring the ancient centre of city, with its winding lanes and tall church steeples. Stop for lunch at one of thousands of cafes and restaurants. In the afternoon check out some of the many museums and art galleries before turning up the energy at the bars and clubs in Züri-West, the epicentre of the city’s nightlife.

On the 6th of August we will journey via high speed train via Bern to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC).

At KISC you will have the opportunity to experience the natural wonder of the Swiss Alps and and all the incredible activities they provide. Over the next 5 days you will be able to build your own program from the range on and off-site activities available at KISC. There is something for everyone!

Kandersteg (3)

How does staying overnight in a hut in the spectacular Swiss Alps sound? Amazing? We think so too! You could learn how to drop into crevices and do ice climbing from a qualified instructor in the middle of summer!

If you are also interested in water activities KISC has got you covered! there is a very broad range from floating down stream on a tube, to white water rafting and different levels of canyoning

For those who want to relax a little, how does a trip to Italy sound? Stresa is situated next to the stunning Lake Maggiore and has an unmistakable Mediterranean atmosphere. There are many options available to fill your day, such as island hopping between the beautiful Borromee Islands, shopping, swimming and, of course, an Italian lunch.

The full list of activities will be finalised later this year, but for a sample of what is currently on offer check out the KISC Summer brochure.

KISC is a take on traditional scouting and will really take you back to the roots of the movement. This will be the perfect way to cap of an incredible international scouting experience.

Day 10 (12 August): End

After breakfast you will be free to pack up and head home, or head off on the next stage of your adventure!
