National Funding

We have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to grant 5 x $500 scholarships to Australian Contingent members attending World Moot 2017. The requirements for the scholarships are below:

  • Registered participant of the Australian Contingent to World Moot
  • Willing to provide a “report” on your Moot experience using creative and engaging media (eg photo/video presentation)
  • Deliver a presentation on your experience to the Rovers in your Region and your State (this can be through a RRC / BRC or other large region / state event).

To apply for the scholarship please email liz@wsm2017.com with your name, Contingent ID and responses to the following questions:

  • Why will you be a good ambassador for Australian Rovers?
  • How will you fit into the event’s theme “Change”?

Applications will close at 11.59pm (Sydney time) on Friday 24 March 2017.

State-based Funding

Below is a list of funding available for Contingent members from each Branch. Contact your Branch for details on how to apply.

Australian Capital Territory

  • Ross Hohnen Memorial International Scholarship
    Rovers and Young Leaders (aged 18 – 30) may apply for the Ross Hohnen Memorial International Scholarship. This is designed to assist the Rover or young leader attend a major International Scouting event, giving form to Ross Hohnen’s vision that the true spirit of Scouting was to be found in the International Brotherhood.
  • Jack Deeble Memorial Scholarship
    The scholarship is available to an ACT Branch Scout or Venturer, or a number of Scouts or Venturers to assist in attending a major International Scouting event.

Applications for both these funds must be endorsed by Group Leader or Section Commissioner and submitted to Branch by the due date – applications and due dates are to be advised.

New South Wales

There are no specific funds currently available in New South Wales however you can apply for National funds or look at the fundraising initiatives.

Northern Territory

There are no specific funds currently available in Northern Territory however you can apply for National funds or look at the fundraising initiatives.

Queensland

South Australia

There are no specific funds currently available in South Australia however you can apply for National funds or look at the fundraising initiatives.

Tasmania

  • Chief’s Grant Scheme
    Available for Tasmanian Branch Participants to apply for funding by filling the TOP 24 form and sending through to Branch.

Victoria

  • EML Fund
    Funding assistance is available for youth members travelling to overseas events through the EML Fund in Victoria. Each application is assessed individually with grants being made for various amounts. Previous recipients of financial assistance to attend National or overseas events will not be eligible for another grant. The factors determining “needs” can be widely interpreted – family size, hardship, illness, unemployment or any of many other reasons.

Western Australia

There are no specific funds currently available in South Australia however you can apply for National funds or look at the fundraising initiatives.
