Eligibility

The eligibility criteria to attend the 15th World Scout Moot in Iceland are outlined below.

All participants must be registered and financial members of the Scout Association of Australia to attend as part of the Australian Contingent. Please note all Contingent members are ambassadors for Scouts Australia at an international event and are expected to behave to the highest standards.

Participants

Attendees who are Rover age will enjoy the full program available in Iceland and experience a truly great international event.

  • Eligible participants to the Moot are those aged between 18 and 25 at the time of the event – this means anyone born on or between the 2nd August 1991 and 25th July 1999.
  • All Rovers must be recommended by their Crew Leader, their Region Rover Council Chair or Region Commissioner and their Branch.
  • Applicants must also be accepted by the Contingent Management Team (CMT). The CMT reserves the right to refuse any application at any time.

International Service Team (IST)

Aside from participants of Rover age, older members are encouraged to attend the Moot as part of the International Service Team (IST). Members of the IST will work with a global network of volunteers who facilitate all aspects of running the Moot. This provides a great opportunity for older and booted members to take part in the World Moot experience, as well as give back to others in Scouting.

  • Eligible participants for the IST are 26 or older at the time of the event – this means anyone born on or before 1st August 1991.
  • All IST members must be recommended by their supervising Commissioner (depending on their current role) and their Branch. For example, someone who is a Leader in another section will need to be recommended by their District Commissioner, but someone who is already a Commissioner needs to be recommended by the next level up.
  • Applicants must also be accepted by the Contingent Management Team (CMT). The CMT reserves the right to refuse any application at any time.

Girl Guides

Members of Girl Guides Australia are welcome to attend the Moot as part of the Scouts Australia Contingent! Guides between 18 and 25 can attend the event as participants, while those 26 and over can attend as part of the International Service Team. Please see above for the relevant eligibility criteria.

In addition to recommendations from the relevant local or region representatives, all applications must be recommended by the Girl Guides Australia national office. Applicants must also be accepted by the Contingent Management Team (CMT). The CMT reserves the right to refuse any application at any time.

Guides should apply on the GGA International database.  Please go to https://international.girlguides.org.au to register for this event.
